Nantucket has a unique magic that brings couples together and such was true for Sarah and Alan, who met on the island in 2006. Sarah, from Rhode Island, had never been to Nantucket until she took a job working at DeMarco restaurant as a bartender that summer. Alan, from Co. Clare in Ireland, was working in construction on the island. And, as the true Nantucket love story goes, their romance blossomed when they met in the romantic surrounds of The Chicken Box!
Nine years later, in the company of family and friends from both Ireland and America, Sarah and Alan tied the knot on a beautiful September day at 'Sconset's Wade Cottages. Sarah was a stunning bride, reminiscent of a classic Hollywood movie star in a beautiful dress with intricate lace detail and makeup and hair by Nantucket Diva, who did an amazing job. The newlywed's love for each other was evident from start to finish - from the moment Alan saw his bride for the first time, to their ear-to-ear smiles as they held each other for the first dance.
It was truly a joy to photograph Sarah and Alan's wedding, which was a walk back in time for me, with the return of so many Irish friends to the island for the occasion. And, in true Irish wedding style, guests danced into the night, aided by the music of DJ Fizzle (Phil).
Congratulations, Sarah and Alan. Here's to many more years of happiness together.
