Rebecca and Dan had been coming to the Wauwinet for several years for their Nantucket vacation, drawn by the peaceful and natural beauty of the area. When Dan proposed at the Hotel in the Spring of 2014, they both knew the Wauwinet would be the perfect place for them to tie the knot.
One just can't go wrong with Tiffany! I love these custom invites by Gus & Ruby Letterpress featuring a simple vintage nautical map of Nantucket.
Rebecca put a lot of thought into the flowers as you can see. Flowers on Chestnut put out an amazing display with as many varieties as possible; the room was ablaze with color and vintage candles setting a very romantic and intimate atmosphere.
Sarah Alcequiez from the salon, Darya's in town helped Rebecca prepare in her room and created a beautifully simple, vintage finish to the make-up and hair that complimented Rebecca's natural beauty.
When the bouquets arrived from Flowers on Chestnut Rebecca teared up with pure emotion. When she told us why both Sarah and I did too!! The little purple Iris nestled in with the rest of the pale pastel palette represents her grandmother who had passed away a few years earlier...a lovely sentimental remembrance.
When asked what first attracted her to Dan, Rebecca replies, "His presence… you know, when Dan is in a room, he is so engaging. Also his eyes, love those dark eyes" :)
Which brings me to my favorite topic...the dress!!! Rebecca fell in love with this stunning number by Claire Pettibone, it was also the first dress she tried on, IMPRESSIVE!
The Sun deck at the Wauwinet has to be hands down one of the most special ceremony locations on the island, literally in the dune grass overlooking the broad expanse of Nantucket Harbor and big blue skies...perfect for an intimate wedding 30 miles at sea!
To love and cherish...
Sankaty lighthouse is a classicly Nantucket backdrop for couple portraits while also giving them some time to catch up after a whirlwind day!
I should just admit I am obsessed with this dress...STUNNING!
All the guests were taken by surprise as Molly Glazer burst into the Game of Thrones Theme music for the newlyweds entrance as husband and wife...I love it!! However Rebecca and Dan danced their first dance to a lovely number a little more appropriate:)
